New Website Build For JaxCareConnect

JaxCareConnect is a non profit based in Jacksonville, Florida that helps connect uninsured people seeking care with providers.

For this project, I built an entirely new website for them based on the design and content provided. The site had a few specialized requirements at the time of the build, including: syncing Salesforce to their forms, automatic language translations for their non-English speaking referrals, link to their online donation platform, and could be easily updated periodically by their staff.

In browser language switching was a priority

One of the priorities for the website during the initial build in 2021 was that it could be easily translated into Spanish and Haitian Kreyol to help best serve in their community. At the time, in browser translations were not as reliable and the client wanted to be sure that their intake forms could be read by everyone who needed them, so we implemented a language switcher in the navigation using WPML.

Easy to update for the client

I never want to hand off a website that the client can’t use themselves. And JaxCareConnect definitely wanted a site they could easily update internally. We love to see it. I built the site in WordPress because it is familiar and flexible.

To keep things even more user friendly, I used Elementor to build the theme, and pages. I felt that the WYSIWYG editor makes it easier for clients who are a little less web inclined.

Ongoing Collaboration

In 2026, we began some minor updates and tweaks to the header, footer, and language translations to bring it more in line with the website of the parent organization WeCareJacksonville. As of June 2026, the new WeCareJacksonville website is in development in coordination with the same designer of the JaxCareConnect website. We are all very excited to work together again and add more cohesiveness across the two organizations’ web presence.
