Rebrand & Redesign for College Coach

College Coach Consultants is a college consulting business based in Denver, Colorado who were ready for a major overhaul of their website. For this project, not only were they rebranding their entire company, they were also migrating their site from a slightly outdated custom built content management system over to WordPress. Since the new website was entirely different from the old one, this presented minimal challenges.

This website was designed by the same designer as JaxCareConnect and Santa Sami. The designer asked for some movement in the elements as you scrolled down the page and I think we really nailed it without becoming an eye strain. See the video below for some of that movement on the page.

The original website looked like this before we got our hands on it.

Dynamic Homepage Elements

This site had a lot of fun elements built into it like the tile animation on the homepage. There are many sections throughout the site with movement and/or animation. It is always fun to add a little whimsy to a site when it is called for. I love the way this section turned out.

Custom Post Template

One unique challenge for this business was handling their newsletters. They wanted a clean way to present their monthly PDF newsletter through the site that would always open in the browser tab. My solution was a custom blog template made for their newsletter category. Setting it up this way, makes it easy for the client to upload the newsletter directly into a new blog post with minimal steps. This is a screenshot showing the custom post template in Elementor. This shows the post edit screen for their newsletter. The client just needs to upload the pdf and insert it into the post. This is what the PDF looks like opened in the browser window. It always opens in a new tab because the site navigation has been removed.

Ongoing Collaboration

I am very proud that this site has remained running for the last 4+ years with minimal need for intervention from me. The design still looks beautiful and it continues to function as expected. Occasionally (but rarely), the client has reached out for help with the more technical aspects of the site, like updates, changes, or errors with email notifications, but for the most part, they have been able to handle regular updates and content changes.
